Successful Bandanna Day

successful bandanna day was held on Friday October 30th. We managed to raise $600 for the CANTEEN cause which supports teenagers with cancer. This money goes towards providing camps and support for these teenagers.
Thank you to all the Strathmore North Community that helped this very worthy cause.

Today we were able to send off a HUGE hessian bag of corks to the Motor Neuron organisation. Thank you to all the people in the Strathmore North Community who are helping to support this cause. The Motor Neuron Disease Association sells the corks to raise money to buy wheelchairs! Did you know that 234 corks=1kg, 500kg=$1000 and $1000 = one wheelchair? The JSC is very excited that we may have made a difference to someone else's life by donating these corks!!
Once again thank you for your support!

This year, the Junior School Council has run fundraisers for the Royal Children's Hospital, SIDSand KIDS Victoria, State Schools Relief, Canteen and Motor Neuron Disease. We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the Parents and students who have supported each cause. We would like to think in some way we have made a difference to someone's life.

Support for Canteen

Bandannas will be available for sale for $3 from next week at school. There are a variety of colours and styles available. They are being sold in support of Canteen which in turn supports children with cancer. The actual bandanna day is 30th October wher all students can wear them with pride knowing that they are helping others!

Money for State Schools Relief Winter Appeal

Our Crazy Hair and Hat Day run by the Junior School Council on Friday 28th August was a HUGE success! There were many different hats and some excellent crazy hair styles! We raised $372 for the State School Relief Winter Warmer Appeal. It was good to see our kids helping out other kids and making a difference to their lives. Thank you to all the students and parents who made a donation.

For their Term 3 Social Service effort, the Junior School Council is holding A Crazy Hair and Hat Day on Friday 28th August, 2009. We are raising proceeds to support the State School Relief Fund-Winter Warmer Appeal by asking for a gold coin donation. So haul out your old wigs, hats, ribbons, clips, and coloured hair for next Friday please!
